Volunteering at The Anstice

Who can volunteer?

Volunteers are crucial members of The Anstice team and volunteering is a great way to meet new people and gain new skills and experience. We're a friendly group and right now we're looking for support with our Youth Club, on pot wash in the Café, on Reception, and for new Trustees to join the Management Board. If you're interested in helping with any of these, pop in for a chat or contact us.

Opportunities

Volunteer Vacancies

Helping with The Anstice Youth Club by engaging with young people, taking part in activities and supporting sessions a few times a term on a Tuesday evening for 2 hours.

Helping with the washing up in The Anstice Café once a week for a couple of hours at a time. Café volunteers work in our pot wash area at the back of the café.

Meeting and greeting at The Anstice Reception desk once a week for a couple of hours at a time. Reception volunteers provide a warm welcome, help with enquiries and answer the phone.

Becoming a Trustee. Trustees make sure we meet our legal obligations, are financially sound and generally operate for the benefit of the community. We meet four times a year and are especially looking for individuals with HR, legal and financial experience to support the management team.

Corporate Social Responsibility

We would love to hear from businesses who are interested in volunteering with us as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. Your employees can volunteer with us regularly in one of our volunteering roles, or, we can engage your team in a specific project.

It's easy to say why I got involved – The Anstice is a building of great historical interest in Madeley, a town which has already lost so much of its character and history… it is vital we save it. We are lucky to have such as proactive town council supporting the project, together with dedicated local people. The building is capable of providing much needed facilities in the area for people to meet and revive the great community spirit in Madeley, which was once so strong and can be again. We have opportunities to use this building for activities, which involve people of all ages and backgrounds. A place to put some 'heart' back into this town.

I love The Anstice building and I want it saved for the community of Madeley so everyone is welcome to use it. It stands very proud in the centre of Madeley and I'd love to see it back to its original glory. On a more personal note, my mother and father met at a dance in The Anstice, and they continued to use it for many years, so it holds a very special place in my heart.
