The Café

The Anstice Café menu offers affordable variety, from full English and veggie breakfasts, to sandwiches and jacket potatoes with a choice of fillings. We also have a mouth-watering selection of homemade cakes and scones.

With free WiFi and power sockets for laptops and charging your phone, the café is a welcoming social hub. Meet friends and family for a chat, have a business meeting or find a book in the library to read as you enjoy a piece of cake and a cuppa. Everyone is welcome at The Anstice Café.

The Kemberton

The Anstice was built in honour of John Anstice, mine owner of the Madeley Wood Company. We named this room after the Kemberton pit, which formed part of the Madeley Wood colliery, in honour of John Anstice and our industrial heritage.

The Kemberton provides extra seating for our popular café. However, it is available for hire in the evenings and when the café is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

The Ballroom

Our beautiful ballroom, with sprung dance floor, is available to hire for parties, conferences, exhibitions, ticketed events, classes and anything else you can think of! It's a fantastic space complete with stage, mezzanine, bar and coffee lounge area.

Hire charges depend on the type of event, so give us a call or email to discuss costs and any catering requirements.

The Library

It's free to join Madeley Community Library. Anyone of any age can become a library member to borrow books and audio items.

Major refurbishment of The Anstice has ensured that both the building and the activities within it have good levels of access for all visitors. This includes:
