The Anstice Community Trust (ACT) leases The Anstice from Madeley Town Council and runs the building on behalf of the people of Madeley. ACT is a registered charity which has benefits – we don’t pay corporation tax, are exempt from some Business Rates and can apply for grants but legally ACT can’t exist without Members and Trustees. Essentially Members keep an eye on the Trustees who keep an eye on the staff to make sure The Anstice is run competently and legally.
So Members can attend ACT’s Annual General Meeting, ask questions, elect Trustees and agree the Trustees Annual Report which goes to the Charity Commission. Members also receive 10% discount in The Anstice Café, a gift voucher on their birthday (to be redeemed in the cafe) and receive regular updates from the team. A vibrant membership makes sure ACT and our Trustees are accountable to and firmly rooted in the wider community.

To be clear, you do not need to become a Member to access The Anstice. The Anstice is no longer a members only social club. Our doors are open to everyone!
